           …of Faith’s AW08 Photo Shoot

In the depths of a mysterious forest, the scene is set for the beginning of the Faith magical winterland shoot. The model, wearing the latest stylish boots from Faith, casually lays atop a piano as our male model plays long striking chords. She stares into the heavens as his tune of love warms her heart on this cold, winter day. She glances down and as she turns to him, reality sets in. Although dreamlike, this is not a dream. Nor is it a film set. The photographer clicks the camera and our new Autumn/Winter campaign begins.

While here in the UK, we anticipated a summer that never really arrived, in South Africa Ruth Ross, Head of PR and Marketing, braved the elements to capture the perfect Autumn/Winter collection for Faith on this photo shoot. And this is where our magical and mystical tour begins, in the Forest. We will meet up later in the Circus before our final destination, the Theatre.

So first stop, the Forest, where although the rain delayed the shoot, Ruth’s spirits were not dampened. “The weather is the one thing that no matter what country you go to, you can never control” says Ruth. “We always plan a ‘weather’ day, which we did need because it was pouring with rain.”

For this fairytale story, the grounds are decorated with candle-lit tables, angel wings and toy bunnies to create the dream-esque atmosphere. Ruth explains the rationale for the magical theme, “It is very dramatic and in difficult times we want our shoot to whisk you away in a world of fantasy and fashion!”

We escape the cold and rain to join Ruth indoors at a school for Circus training. Here, both the Circus and Theatre shots are being staged in a school which also doubles as a Centre for Children with Special Educational Needs. Ruth tells us about the School, “The local community benefits as this is not just for entertainment. It is a fantastic place full of energy and enthusiasm which I feel has helped to make this shoot innovative and dramatic. It is really important that we keep moving forward as a brand and we have an edge and I feel that we have managed to capture that here.” Not knowingly, pop icons Britney and Take That are also currently inspired by drama and magic with the launch or their new albums, both titled ‘Circus’.

“The Circus and Theatre shots, as well as those in the Forest, help us stand out from the crowd. We can also showcase our shoes and accessories keeping focussed on fashion and of course shoes. Many hours of time and research took place prior to the shoot and we feel we have captured the look for the season. We hope you like them!”
